Mega-Volume Coal Stevedoring
High-productivity coal cargo handling operations
The Challenge
Massive coal import volumes threatened to cause severe port congestion and vessel demurrage charges. Storing, sorting, and rapidly evacuating the coal to inland power plants required high-productivity handling speeds and meticulous staging coordination.
Our Solution
We deployed high-capacity hydraulic grabs, dumpers, and optimized staging areas at Kandla and Mundra ports. AML’s skilled stevedoring workforce worked 24/7 in rotating shifts, using advanced loaders to ensure continuous cargo evacuation via trucks and rail rakes.
The Result
Successfully handled 45.17 million metric tons of coal cargo, maintaining loading rates far exceeding average port benchmarks and saving our clients substantial port costs.
Client Feedback
"AML has set new benchmarks in coal cargo evacuation. Their stevedoring speed and staging management reduced our vessel turnaround times significantly."— Leading Power Infrastructure Conglomerate
